I returned mine and opted for the Panasonic TH42PD50. I found that the overall picture quality to be very poor. Images were very pixelated especially during dark scenes and not as sharp and clear. The Panasonic was a bit more money but it was worth it. The Samsung has more features for the money. I also found that the Samsung generated alot of heat during operation which could lead to a shorter life span.

The SP-R4212 is only enhanced def not high def, you probably already knew that though. I was looking at the Samsungs too, I would want the most recent model though probably the HP-R4272 I am assuming since it's the highest number.

I read this article about 50" plasmas for $1000 and it sort of spoiled my desire to spend $2500 or more now.

Thank you for pointing that out. I was waiting on a reply to that question on another thread. The HP-R4272 looks perfect. Now I will spend some time finding the best price. Thanks again.
