I just installed a new 52" Sammy 750 and cable box only while waiting for my receiver & other components just to have TV reception. All sound comes from the TV.
Periodically, we'll hear a "pop" from the TV speakers. No pattern to it and infrequent at best. We keep the volume level at normal listening levels. I called out the Geek Squad from the local Best Buy and without even checking it, they said it is the TV and agreed to replace it. They told me they have been experiencing this problem on several Series 6 & 7s in the past few weeks.
Another tech type from different store had also seen this problem with the 6 & 7 series and said it was due to a weak sound card. Apparently there is no problem operating surround sound speakers with the TV.
Interestingly, I did a lot of research on the Sammy 6 & 7 Series and had never heard of this issue before either from stores or from all the forums I visited. Maybe I didn't ask the right question, but have any of you experts out there heard of this issue with the Sammys--they're supposed to be top rated?
