Samsung LN46A860 Issue

First, thanks for all the great threads that helped me chose the tv's and BD player I got. In addition to the 46 above I got the same in a 52", and the Panasonic BD35. I am using mostly with the DTV DVR HR22's. For the theater I will use the new Epson 7500 once out and reviewed. That is actually a large dedicated room which has 2 rows of seats and drop down screen (or will when the bank gets repopulated with cash).

Now here's the issue. When the TV is first turned on a box in the upper left corner comes up with the source info, HDMI, says time or no time info, and the resolution. Then it disappears. It never comes back on the 52 when changing channels on the DTV box, however, it comes on all the time on the 46. The banner for the channel comes up, screen goes black, then above described TV pop up comes on followed by the picture then the pop up goes away. It does this every time channel changes. The tech folks at Samsung are just operators and really don't have specifics. I tried going through tv menu to find a way to turn off notifications, but what I did didn't work.

Any thoughts, experience with this?

Beyond that, the picture out of box is freakishly real. Filmed shows look like HD video. My wife said is like looking out window. Hope to read here more about setting to get that film like quality.

Is it the same DVR? On my 52, the display only pops up if the input or resolution changes. So maybe you have all resolutions selected on your DVR and when you change channels, the resolution changes depending on the station. I have my DVR set to only display 1080i so all channels output in that format so I don't have to wait for the TV to change resolutions when surfing channels.

That's how I have mine set, to 1080i. They recommend I take coax from sat feed off and unplug HDMI and reconnect. But I am doubtful. Any others out there?
