Samsung ln-s4095d and upconverting dvd players

I just bought the Samsung HDTV 1080p model LN-S4095D. SInce the new models came out, I got it for 1320. I was wondering if that was a good deal considering the new models came out, and would i have been better off waiting for them to go down.

Another question I have is I would like to get better use out of the TV with movies, however I personally would not like to spend the amounts of money requested for the new players. How do the upconverting DVD players fare? Any suggestions on certain models or features to look for?

Also if anyone have any advice on the TV, how to calibrate it, or any other information they think would be useful please let me know. Thanks for your time.

HDCP Compliance

Oh, on a side note, how do I find out if this TV is HDCP compliant? I heard if it isnt, no HD content that is will play on it. Is this true, and if so is it compliant? thanks again

It is HDCP compliant, so no worries.

The upconverting DVD players are very good. $229 will get you the Oppo 981, which upconverts to 1080p over HDMI.

You will be pleased.

Thanks for the advice. I only ask this because I am curious, but how do you know it is HDCP compliant? Just wondering because I have been looking on line and can't find anything about it.

Are these calibrations for like $300 best buy offers worth anything? Do they basically do just what I could do by reading the instruction manual or is there more to it? Thanks
