i have a strange situation going on with this tv, its a 50" plasma btw.
i have it mounted (well had it) on the wall with a flush mount for the specific tv.
it functioned fine for about 9 months then started losing the picture (un-intelligible, then black/blank screen). the sound in every instance always remained, and the ability to change channels (cable tuner). i connected a dvd player to one of the inputs and condition remained the same. i eventually removed the tv from the wall mount deciding to either scrap, repair or replace for several weeks before reconnecting in any way.
so last weekend i decided to hook up the dvd player with the tv on the floor just to time how long it takes before it starts to act up. surprisingly it never did i was able to watch the entire movie. the tv remained fully functional for almost a week so i decided to mount it back on the wall just to see what will happen. within 15 mins the tv started to follow the sequence of events that it does before it loses the picture completely. i took it back down again (btw this tv is HEAVY), and it has functioned without losing the picture since last nite.
this leads me to conclude that there is something going on with the mounting of this tv on my wall mount.
has anyone experienced this, or have any idea why this is happening?
