Actually, I take that back, CaliHwyPatrol. My bad! It is the sony LCoS that is incapable of accepting a true 1080p signal. Basically, the sony would take a 1080p signal, break it down to 1080i and then deinterlaces it back to 1080p. If you look at the specs sheet for the
Sony on Crutchfield's website, you can see that the max input is rated at 1080i through either component or HDMI.
On the other hand, the samsung actually accepts a 1080p signal and maintains that signal in its final display. Here is the spec sheet from Crutchfield for the
Samsung . Soooo... The samsung is not cheating.
