Samsung FP-T5084 upscaling capability?

I originally posted this question in the Pre/Pro forum in the Onkyo TX-SR805 review thread, but I guess it really belongs here.

Can anyone comment on the upscaling/conversion capabilities of the Samsung FP-T5084? I just got one for Christmas & now I want to upgrade my receiver and speakers. I've been figuring on the SR805 but I didn't know that it doesn't do upscaling - is this a feature I'll need with the FP-T5084?

I've looked over the owner's manual and didn't see this point addressed.

Thanks,

David

All current model TVs scale the incoming signal to its native resolution if necessary.

A question to anyone about using the tv's internal scaling capability:

Is it generally better to run each source separately to the TV and let the internal processor do the scaling?

Or is it better to run each source through a receiver with a built in scaler/deinterlcer and then connect to the TV?

I am also considering the samsung FP-t5084 and the Denon 2308CI and was just wondering if I should run my video signals through the denon or not?

This article might be helpful--includes results for tests of a bunch of televisions' processors, including the Samsung you're looking at:

http://hometheatermag.com/hookmeup/1107hook2/

It looks like the Reon HQV does a better job of deinterlacing and handling 3:2 processing than the processors in most of the displays--35% of the sets failed the deinterlacing test and 80% failed the 3:2 processing tests.
