Which would you go with for 50% gaming 50% movies...? Is the picture of a DLP projector as good as a DLP TV (SAMSUNG HL67A750 LED Light)???

Any recomendations on a good projector for under $2,000??

If your gonna go Projector you better do your homework.

Got to Projector Central.com and start looking at reviews and ratings.

If you can get the BenQ deal still going on refurbs that would be great.

Also a Sanyo PLV-1080 is going for 1500 at amazon.

A PJ is better than a TV IMO for many reasons.

But there are tradeoffs

A PJ is very versatile and can be made various screen sizes.

A PJ weighs less and is easier to move.

A PJ tends to have better ratios and PQ than many tvs.

A TV is easier to setup and get just right.
A TV is probably more reliable.
A TV can be switched off and on more frequently and easily.

Honestly it depends on your goals the direction you should go.

Most recommend a screen, but a white wall even if slighty textured works find until you can afford a good screen. I don't have a screen and use the wall. Make sure you get a Digital Video Essentials disk and calibrate it.

BenQ makes good DLPs
Optoma is ok.

Sanyo, Panasonic, Epson all make good LCDs. Amazon is a good place to find PJs. Check out the Projector area for more ideas. Many posts are there already with good info so read first. Not need to reask the same questions.

For clarification, they don't make a 72" LED DLP set, which is what he was inquiring about..

I think you have the 72A650, which is a bulb based set... :)

I have a theater with projection... if you watch a lot during the day, remember that light control is imperative, especially for gaming. :)
