By the end of the summer they'll be giving away these things, I spoke to a guy at BB, he said the hi-def stuff wasn't moving as much. Consumers didn't see the need to pay close to 30.00 for a dvd. He showed me the Bluray rack and said thay hardly had to refill it. Go figure.

I still wouldn't want one! ;) Not enough titles available, as you had stated above the cost of buying or renting would be more then regular dvd's. As mentioned here on the AH forum the newer formats will only reach the niche market and not the masses.

If these units get down under $200, and Netflix starts carrying titles at the going rate, I may consider one. That would be the only way.

i'm not sure if you guys have noticed it yet, but netflix does hd-dvd and blue ray for the same price now...
