Samsung - Attach External Speakers?

For some time I've owned a Pioneer plasma tv. It has "Audio Out L" and "Audio Out R" RCA jacks for speakers. As an upgrade I replaced the original speakers with aftermarket speakers by simply unplugging the originals and plugging in the aftermarkets.

Recently I purchased a Samsung UN46C8000xfza. One of the best features of the tv is that my wife and I can listen to Pandora through the Internet@TV function (something the Pioneer won't do). We'd like to be able to listen to Pandora in other rooms without using the current method of increasing the volume back in the room that has Samsung tv set so that it's loud enough to be heard throughout the house. With the Pioneer in mind, I thought the best way to do that would be attach speakers to the Samsung and then string the speakers into the other rooms.

Unfortunately, I've discovered the Samsung doesn't have "Audio Out" RCA jacks. Instead, the tv has a single "Digital Audio Out (Optical)" jack and a single "Audio Out" jack. Both of those "Out" female jacks on the tv appear to be just the right size to accommodate the male jack at the end of my kids' earphone wires.

If you didn't see it coming, here it is: How do I attach external speakers to my Samsung?

Thanks in advance.

One is a digital output and the other is analog. It's just like the output on the back of a CD player, and you will need an external amplifier, or powered speakers.

Solution: Use PC speakers!

If you just want to get audio out of the TV, then if you have some PC speakers already, you can probably plug them right into the TV and play audio right now and hear them.

You can get a long 3.5mm (or 1/8") stereo cable at Monoprice.com to extend the audio to another room.

Here's a link for you for them!

That's a FANTASTIC idea! I just so happen to have a "three set" of speakers (two small speakers and a bass speaker) that would be perfect.

Thanks for the great idea.
