Yes, at least Samsung's 3D lineup is now quite clear.
For LED edge-lit LCDs, we have:
C9000 series - pencil thin, but just regular LED edge-lighting.
C8000 series - less than an inch thick and Samsung's most advanced LED edge-lighting is "precision dimming" where they can "aim" the LED edge-lights in "diamond" patterns to semi-achieve local-dimming-type results.
C7000 series - just your standard LED edge-lit displays (but with 3D).
For plasmas, we have:
C8000 series - skinny plasma with Samsung's newest "black filter" which is supposed to help retain black levels in a brightly lit room.
C7000 series - skinny plasma without the new filter. Should be more-or-less just like previous Samsung plasmas and do just fine in a dark room.
For regular CCFL backlit LCDs, we have:
C750 series - only the 46" model is 3D and it's Samsung's only CCFL backlit LCD 3D television.
So far, there are no fully LED backlit with local-dimming models. Worse than that, every single one of these Samsung 3D displays has a glossy screen! So for me, personally, thanks, but no thanks, Samsung.
