I am setting up a new system with the following:

Yamaha RX V2500
Denon 2910
Pioneer 4550 or 5050

For esthectic purposes to please my wife we bought a credenza style lift cabinet for the plasma and center channel with smaller side cabinets for speakers/ equipment. With this arrangement I will need to have all the speakers in the horizontal position. What is the best speaker set-up? Should I use the same speaker for the mains and center? I have 20" horizontally for the L-R and 46" for the center, with about 10" of height for all. Any recomendations or suggestions. My budget for speakers (5.1) is around $2k.

Thanks, Mike

Sell the entertainment center. You bought a plasma and put it in a box??

Seriously, enclosing your speakers does nasty things to imaging by the baffle effect. How deep is the cabinet? Deep enough for rear ported speakers to not be affected? You might want to keep to front ported speakers or sealed speakers like NHT.
