Hi Kruz, I know I'm kind of late to this party, but has anyone mentioned Funk Audio?

They're a Canadian ID company so that should help save on duty fees. Also, have you considered other Canadian speaker co's that should be available to audition locally?

Again, I know I'm late so if these things have been mentioned I apologize.

With vehicles, it's the same question as this crack habit we discuss here - do you want an appliance like a fridge that just works all the time without question or thought, but leaves you 'cold' and uninvolved emotionally? Or do you want something that stirs the soul, and the wallet while it's at it?
Every soul is stirred and inspired by different things.

Some people think Range Rovers look ugly.

Some people think Lexus LXs look gorgeous.

Some people love fast cars, some people don't.

I never liked fast cars. Even when I was a kid, I always preferred luxury sedans and luxury SUVs.

Everyone is different. Every soul is different.

Some people think the B&W 800D2 is ugly, while some think it's a piece of art.

Some people think the Salon2 is unemotional, clinical, and cold, while others find it exquisite and enamoring.

Whether it is cars, speakers, amps, or whatever, everyone is different.

I know we can't all agree on everything. But if there is one thing I figure we can all agree on, it is that everyone is different.

Yes, we are all different...but I suspect we all subscribe (to a greater or lesser gegree) to the theory that the level of a man's intelligence can be measured by the degree to which he agrees with you - whether we're willing to admit it or not.... :D

Are PSB and/or Paradigm priced better in Canada than the States? Especially factoring in the shipping?

Hey thanks for the recommendation. I haven't heard of these guys before and will look into it. Would you happen to know any other Canadian ID companies other than Axiom?

No problem.

There are several good Canadian speaker companies, Gemme Audio, Paradigm, Totem. There are a few others, like Fluance and Energy, but they may not be up to the quality you would want.

Before some of the Energy owners get angry... Energy is owned by Klipsch now and 'some' of their speakers may not be up the quality you want. They do have some very good offerings though. Like the Veritas series which are well liked.

I've owned fast cars, not worth much when you really can't drive it the way it was designed not to mention the possible speeding ticket BUT you know according to the manufacturer that that car will go fast

But as it happens in the US of A, a man is at times measured by the wealth of his possessions. I call it, 'the let me show you what I have syndrome'. But some work hard in life to enjoy nice things so it's a just reward for hard work.

Dealing with Salk Sound is a pleasure, and Jim Salk does ship to Canada.
You could not have said it better. Jim has been great to communicate with over email and patient with all of my questions. I have a quote now for shipping so I can start finalizing my budget and coming up with my game plan to compare the Salk's to the Ascends. I am also going to go to some local places to see what I can get for the same total as shipping from ID companies. Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions.
