I really don't know how to deal with this guys. I just turned off one of our spam filters b/c it's been flagging too many posts. I don't have time to sift through 100s of moderated posts each week. I welcome any advise/help with this.

not a huge deal, just ignore them and have the mods delete them when they show up, doesn't bother me... I ignore much bigger pains in the @$$ than some BS posts, I have a mother in law...



and 14 full time employee's..................


and 1300 commercial customers.................


and over 50 rental tenants...................

I think there are enough honest members on this site to help police it. The spam posts are usually pretty easy to spot right away. It sucks that it can't be automated but I'm happy to throw them under the bus at every opportunity which is what I should have done immediately. A suggestion to quickly notify of spam is to maybe put a "report spam" link in the notifications drop down at the top of the page. Hopefully that wouldn't create more chaos.

I hear ya ImcLoud but one of the things I love about this site is that it is clean and the members, for the most part, are well mannered. I work in a technical IT role so I also see my share of forum idiots on other sites I use on a daily basis. This is my forum sanctuary.

Perhaps a sticky post to each area to red flag report such flagrant advertising posts.

I hear ya ImcLoud but one of the things I love about this site is that it is clean and the members, for the most part, are well mannered. I work in a technical IT role so I also see my share of forum idiots on other sites I use on a daily basis. This is my forum sanctuary.

C'mon, its not that big of a deal, I can tell a post is BS from the headline and then mouse over it and read the caption if its not for you don't open it....
I have been on a few other forums {gun, motorcycle, hot rod} and I can honestly say that ah makes short work of the riff raff, trolls come and go, they make for some entertainment here and there but ultimately they give up and walk away...

I would let someone else judge if I am "good" member or not (Craig could vouch for me for example) and for volunteering part - I have always said, that I am interested in contribute my some of time for this community and I hope over last 6.5 years I was helpful to a member or two

There is already a little triangle at the bottom of each post that you can click on to report a post. I would imagine that moderators look at those reports to see if the post is in need of moderation.
