Guys,
I have a Sony 9000es DVD & Sacd player and it only has a two channel hook up for output for SACD disc(I have many Multi channel disc). My B&K Ref 50 has hook ups for playing the SACD's in all channels including the subwoofer. Now when I use the DVD mode for the SACD it has little to no bass response and to say the least does not sound any better than 44k to my ears. Should I retire this unit for DVD movies only and get a SACD player that supports the 5.1 SACD modes. What would you guys do. Or better yet how would you hook it up.

My System:
Processor: B&K Ref 50
Amps: Ref3220 & 2220
Wires: Signal Cable
DVD Player: Sony 9000es
Speakers:
Front: Von Schweikert VR-4jr
Center: Von Schweikert LCR-15
Rear: Von Schweikert VR-1
Subwoofer: Velodyne Spl-1200 Series 2
Line conditioner: Monster
TV-46" Hi-def Mitsubishi

Thanks,
Grey Ghost :D

Multi channel w/ DVP 9000ES

You need the Sony TA P9000ES to enjoy 5.1 multi channel CDs.

Time for a new High Rez multichannel playback machine. You're missing out on the good stuff....

The first time you experience a movie in DTS-ES of Dolby-EX, you’ll want a multi-channel DVD player as well. Might want to think about biting the bullet for a used multi-channel universal player (DVD/CD) to hold you over for a couple years until HD players are available at reasonable prices.

I just watched a movie in DTS-ES that had a scene where someone was talking on a cell phone walking toward the viewer, and then walked off screen to the left side. The cell phone conversation continued down the left side, around and behind, then up the right side until the actress walked back on screen on the right side. It was like she walked all the way around me talking on her cell phone.
