Anything special about these? Why do I see them for $100 to $150 all over? Is this just more cable madness? or are these really special RCAs? Anyone got a link to something priced a bit more realistic?

I went through this same thing a few months ago, when I first got my universal player. It seemed that audio cables for this were ridiculously priced -- $100 to $150 and up. Some people on this forum told me that using two sets of component cables would be fine, as long as they had a nominal impedence of 75 Ohms. So I went out and bought two sets of Acoustic Research component cables ($20 each) and they work beautifully. Give 'em a try.

cheers,

You don't even need a video cable for them, as mentioned above. An audio interconnect, will work; so will a video if price is reasonable.

And yes, it is audio madness, the marketeers at work, and human gullibility that is so prevelant.
