S Video to an Optoma ep7150

Hi y'all

I'm trying to run S video from my Sony Dreamsystem DVD player (DAV-DX250) to my Optoma ep7150 projector. My projector cycles through all of the inputs, finds the S video, but displays the image as pretty sqaure-looking and brown-ish in hue. It claims to have found the input at 1260 x 1028 and 60 Hz (I think...), but then goes on to cycle through the other inputs again.

Can anyone help me?

Are the two systems incompatible?

Should I try to hook the DVD player up using a different input?

I'd love to actually see a movie on my new system...

1. Yes.
2. Shouldn't be.
3. Yes.

It sounds as though:
1. Your projector is not properly setup or calibrated.
2. You may have a bad cable.
3. There may be an issue with your player.

Eliminate the first two and post back if you still have issues. And welcome to the Forum!

Thanks, John. I received a pretty prompt reply from Optoma's service desk and they have responded as you have, so I'll be trying a new cable ASAP. Will let you know.
