I have an S-video connection from my Sony Wega 27" TV to my Toshiba 1700 DVD player. Is there someway to also connect an S-video cable to my Sony SLV-N71 VCR which has RCA jacks only? My A/V receiver is Yamaha RX-V440 which has RCA jacks only. Can I only have S-video to one source.I would like to feel that I am getting best picture from VCR also. I do have yellow video cable from TV to VCR instead of A/V receiver to VCR.

All replies welcome!

Most VCR's don't support S-video connections.

I think the only ones that do are of the rare S-VHS variety. But I wouldn't fret too much. The quaity of a VHS signal is more than adequately handled via the yellow composite video cable you're curently using.

Yep, the only ones left on the market that I know of are from JVC (on my to-get list).

Radio Shack has baseband video converters for $16 CAD that'll convert composite to s-video & vice versa. I use them because my HK doesn't do video conversion.
