RXV-2600 Shuting down

Hi First time posting on this forum I like what I am reading here . I have a questing I have a rxv 2600 It does a great job best reciever I ve owned I started out twenty five years ago with NAD passed it down to my teenage kid then I purchased a Pioneer VSX-D1S I still have it But I wanted to go to AV-receiver digital The problem I am having is when I want to blow the windows out of the house it shuts down at about +5.0dB to +7.0dB after a couple of minuits The fronts are Ditons 551 old but stable One tweeter is shot rears and back are dont moan bose 301 and 201 sub is Paradigm Any answers and help appreciated.

Sounds like you have inefficient main speakers. I could not google them, can you post their specs. It sounds like your receiver is running out of power and shutting down. Might need to put a dedicated 2 ch amp to power the mains.

I think I'd shut down also at those levels.:eek: LOL! Your definetely pushing the limits of the receiver.:(

The mains are over twenty years old Thinking of purchasing bose 701 or 901 just because I have 301 and 201 Dont have the specs on the mains

I took what agarwalro believes the main speakers are doing went into the gui of the receiver lowerd the the levels to the front and you got it no shut down and still to loud for normal listening thanks guys :)
