Is my Yamaha RX-V3900 receiver 3D video capable?

I had received on screen message denying playback when using Sony PS3 with software updates so I purchased a Sony-BDP-S5200-3D-blu-ray-DVD-player-with-WiFi & received same message.

I am outputting to a Epson-Home-Cinema-5030UBE-3D-1080p-Home-Theater-Projector

I emailed Yamaha & to my disappointment a representative said the receiver was not 3D capable.... Bummer

I am just looking for additional verification that I need to junk my RX-V3900 receiver to play 3D movies.

Thanks

Joe

So, you tried two units that you know are 3D capable with it and it didn't work with either one. Then you call Yamaha and ask them if it's3D capable and they said it's not.

If Yamaha says it's not 3D capable, what do you what to hear from us? That they don't know their own stuff?

What's that river in Egypt?

If your player has both HDMI and digital audio outputs, you can bypass the 3900. Just send HDMI directly to the TV, and the digital audio outputs to the Yamaha.

True, that will work in a pinch but the receiver will be useless for video switching and he won't be able to avail himself of the hi-rez DD/DTS sound formats Blu-ray discs offer, just the basic ones available on DVD that can be passed via coax or toslink.
