RX-V2600 - Sorround Speakers Cut Out!

Has anyone experienced this particular problem: you're increasing or lowering the volume on your RX-V2600 (either w/ remote or w/ knob) and all of a sudden the back Left and Right sorrounds quit on you? (and I mean, totally, completely, utterly go silent).

A couple of months ago, this happened to me, and I could only "fix" the problem by increasing and lowering the volume repeatedly until the back L&R kicked back on. I made sure all the connections were good (and they were) and I tried all sorts of sound fields (and it still happened).

I called up my dealer - he's never heard of this problem. I called up Yamaha, and they couldn't help. Incredibly, after three days of doing this, it stopped completely, and the back speakers never cut out again, until TODAY! Today, it happened again, once... When I increased the volume and decreased it, the back speakers came back on.

Has this happened to anyone with a Yammy? Any idea what it could be?

Thanks!

Not off hand but I wonder if your rear speakers somehow are placing a very low impedance on the amp and those channels shut off? Something happened internally with those rear speakers?
Does this happen with low volume too? Or only when you increase it ?

Hi mtrycrafts, not sure about the low impedence.. Nothing happened with the speakers, they are brand new... This happens typically when I try to increase the volume from very low volume, to medium. Then they cut out. When I play with the volume up and down, they always come back on!
