I am wondering if there is a way to get Sirius instead of XM on these units. Maybe some kind of adaptor. I know I can buy an external Sirius receiver, but I would like to use the Yamaha as the control center. Is this possible?

Every test, I have seen so far on Sirius, and one of its competitor I can not remind their name, were negatives. They all said, its very far from good FM reception. The signal is highly compressed. I hope you have a chance to hear the signal, before spending any money on it. Sorry to say, Its not high-fi.

I am aware the quality is not the best. I have an in car receiver. I like to be able to listen to some of the talk shows (Stern) and the college and pro football though. I didn't think there was an adaptor, but it was worth a shot. Thanks for taking the time to respond...

XM Ready

The XM ready port on current Yamaha's is basically a digital connection between the reciever and the antenna / tuner unit. All it does is allow you to change the XM station with the Yamaha remote. Sirus does not have a similar technology and if they did, they would not be plug and play.

Buy a home adapter kit for your current Sirius car receiver and enjoy. You should be able to program your yamaha remote to send the commands to the Sirius tuner, assuming it has an IR receiver.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to avoid buying more hardware, but that solution will work just fine...
