RX-V2600 and HDMI Problem

All,

I have a Marantz DV-9600 connected via HDMI to the 2600 which then feeds a Panny AE900. The other main source I use is a Digital Set Top Box which is connected via its component output (pre HDMI Technology and less than 18 months old bah!)

On a number of occasions I have paused the DVD - to watch the local news cast for 10 mins - before going back to DVD.

I now realise every time I switch sources the DVD player is unpaused - and it is annoying to then have to roll back to where I was. If I just pause and don't switch sources - stays paused indefinitely.

Any suggestions?

Resuming DVD

Just hit stop on the DVD player. It should resume playing from where it left off when you are done with the news.

Thanks for the idea.

Gave it a go..it did restart at the right place. Just have to remember to hit stop not pause.

Anyone got any ideas on why this behaviour happens.

Remote control issues? my recvr remote will make dvd player fast forward when I press stop twice. And then it will not stop when I press stop or play. I have to press track skip back for it to resume play. Weird pain in the neck. I'm only half way through remote manual!!!...technology?

same thing happens to me at work.. i watch a 60 inch sxrd sony with a sr8500 and a marantz dv7600 (same remote codes as yamaha) and if i pause the movie and change inputs with the remote.. bang the movie starts playing again.. have to hit stop. its the only way.. It's def not the yamaha reciever though.. we have our dv 7600 directly feeding the sony since the SR8500 doesn't have HDMI, only DVI.. so truly we're bypassing the reciever.
