RX-V2500/Speakers "out of phase" on auto setup

I used the RX-V2500's autosetup after I installed new front L/R speakers (Boston Acoustic VR3). Autosetup worked fine, except it gave me an "out of phase" message upon completion. The manual indicates this might mean speaker polarity (wiring) is reversed. I have triple-checked my wiring and am sure positive is with red, etc. (unless Boston placed the red speaker binding post on the wrong side).

The Yamaha manual further states that this message ("out of phase") may occur even when wires are properly connected. What should I do? Would I know (via audible sound distorations) if there really is a wiring problem? Could the speakers have been mis-wired internally (if so, would I not hear an audible distortion)? Any thoughts or personal experience?

I realize the 2500 review on this site encountered the same problem, but I want to be sure I don't damage anything or ignore the message if there is something I should do. Thanks.

Out of Phase message

If you checked the wiring on the speakers in question then you are fine. The error message will not effect the performance of your speakers or receiver.
There are a varitey of speaker types, sizes, and designs that can be connected to the receiver and the autosetup does not work perfectly with all of them, as you pointed out. For example, the receiver could be easily confused by a dipole surround which fires one of the drivers out of phase.

When in doubt. Check your receiver setting using and SPL meter and the manual setup mode.

2500 out of phase auto phase set up message

Hey,
I bi-wired my speakers with the 2500 and I got the same message. I called Yamaha, and they said not to worry about it.
