It seems that when I turn the volume up, my pure direct automatically kicks in after a little while. Is it a safety "trigger" or someting? I am running a pair of Paradigm 90P's with a CC370 Centre and two mini monitors for rears. Would it be associated with circuit breakers in the mini's or the centre? I'm watching a concert DVD right now and it just went into Pure direct after about 15-20 minutes of playtime. I have checked the manual but have not found very mucch info on Pure Direct.

Thanks,
Paul.

Hi Paul.
Have done plenty of reading on the RX-V1500 & 2500's and cant say that Ive read anything about someone having this before.

Pure Direct has to be engaged..

Gremlins in your remote? Are you using a multi function remote and its activating it while controlling something else?

Try watching/listening to something and cover up the front of the Yamaha so the IR receiver cant pick up input from anything - another source is all that I can think of that may be causing your problem - or a genuine problem with the receiver...

Good Luck and Ive my fingers crossed for you!!

Sorry I haven't responded, I wanted to get a pic up of my set-up and now do! I contacted my local Yammy dealer and he suggested it may be a "overheating" problem. Here is a pic of what I've got going on. I removed the receiver to see if it went into "pure direct" without anthing above the unit that may interfere with air circulation. Everything was fine for a day or 2...then BANG! (so to speak lol) The wife and I were watching a movie with the THX setting on...and it went into Pure Direct. I wonder if MY fan is working...? :( It will go back after a while if I push THX again, but for a while after it goes into pure direct - it says "not available" if I try pushing most other buttons on the remote.

The salesman is checking to see if I can just exchange it for a new one - 2 weeks or so to wait for repairs of this one I heard...(fingers crossed for the exchange! lol)

Experiencing this as well

I have had an RXV-1500 for about a year now, and lately it has started doing this as well. But it does it so randomly that I can't get a handle on exactly what is causing it.

I was wondering if Yamaha has said anything about this?

Paulvader? Anyone?

...I have my fingers crossed as I have owned my 2500 for about 10 months. I wonder if pushing the amps hard and speaker imp has anything to do with it? Do you guys have spkr imp set to 8ohm?
