RX-V2500 has lost zone 2

My Yamaha RX-V2500 loses track of the zone 2 speaker set (wired into the presence speaker output per owner's manual) whenever it is unplugged, and then produces no sound in zone 2. I ran through auto set up when I first got the receiver in December and established zone 2, but that hasn't worked consistently since. I did get the zone 2 speakers to produce sound after the first time we had to move the system, but I'm not sure exactly what did the trick and haven't been able to restart it again. The zone 2 speakers have tested good.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Yamaha Zone 2

Your Yamaha remote has the ability to turn zone 2 On/Off and also to assign the source and volume level to zone 2. I think there is a light on the receiver's front pannel to indicate that Zone 2 is ON. Also verify that the rear surround amps are still assigned to Zone 2.

Thanks for the input. I've been through all the controls and settings; they all seem to be set right. And the front panel indicator says zone 2 is on, but still no musice upstairs. Any other ideas?

Had a 2500 for about a yr and never used zone 2 but, if I remember correctly you have to use a seperate source for audio/video? There were some kind of restrictions I think. I have manual on cdr and will take a look again and see if I can figure something out for you or you can call Yamaha tech support toll free!

Zone 2 sources

Keep in mind that Zone 2 can only pass analog sources. If you have a digital connection from the CD or other source, add a pair of analog RCA's for use with zone 2. Also use the FM tuner as a test source to make sure the zone 2 amps and settings are correct.
