Does anyone know if the only real difference between these 2 receivers is the that the 2400 has 2 more sound fields, RS-232 and video out to 2nd room?

According to Good Guys rep that's the only difference, he says Amps and other parts are all the same.

Tack (Swedish for Thanks),

macro remote, record out zone 2 input selector, a tad of wattage and and power capacity also. My dealer was only asking for $160 more for the 2400, I took the 1400 back. I figured the remote and the rs232 port can come in handy if theres an update. However I e-mailed yamaha and they replied that the 1400 does have a port inside the unit to upgrade. I'm thinking both units are comparable performance wise, I haven't hooked the 2400 up yet. For the $160 I figured I would get more features that I could use. I only paid $799 for the 2400.

One thing though, my rxv1400 was already updated to PROLOGIC IIx when I took it out of the box. My 2400 is not IIx, and i'm assuming the rs232 port will come in handy if there is going to be firmware available for this upgrade.
