I'm trying to adjust the audio delay on my reciever when watching a dvd. I can't get the reciver to not go to the on screen display so i can adjust it while watching a movie. I have the dvd connected to the reciever through hdmi and then hdmi to the tv. So my question is how do i turn off the osd on my reciever.

Hit the display button on the remote. Look at page 89 of your owners manual. It goes from full display, to short display, to off with each press of the button.

I would bet that changing the display settings with the remote is temporary. You can probably set the osd in the setup menus.

I'm not sure...but I am assuming the delay is caused by not having the speaker distances set correctly. Try that and see if it helps you with your delay problem.

there is nothing in the setup menu to turn the osd on or off. I have the speaker distance setup correctly also. by just watching a movie and going into the setup and changing my audio delay then going back to the movie i have it pretty close but it would just be easier if i could change it while watching the movie.

I think the delay is more likely to be caused by the tv doing a video conversion, not the speaker distance settings. I had to adjust the delay on my RX-V1600 as well, then I had to adjust it again when I hooked up the OPPO dvd player, but I used the delay settings in the dvd player for that since I didn't want to change the delay settings for everything else.

The display button is the only way to turn the display on and off, there is nowhere in the advanced setup for display options.
