RX-V1500 12V signal loss

I've been meaning to post this question for a while now.
I'm running the front channels from my Yamaha RX-V1500 through a power amp. The amp is powered up via a 12V trigger from the 1500. When I switch the 1500 to multi channel input the amp loses it's 12V signal and goes into standby. Very annoying. I then need to reach around the amp and flip the switch to the on position.
I'm wondering if any one else has experienced this or if this a defect in my receiver.

Hi NomoSony,

That is apparently normal behavior with Yamaha receivers. I've got an HTR-5990 that does the same thing and several other Yamaha owners who post here have mentioned the same behavior.

One option you may be able to take advantage of is the fact that this doesn't effect the switched outlet on the back of the receiver.

I AM NOT SAYING TO PLUG THE AMP INTO THE RECEIVER...

But, if you have a power center with the option to plug a triggerline into the switched outlet, that will work and isn't effected by the "multi ch" trigger. I'm using a Monster HTS3500 with that functionality.

Not the best news I'm sure, but it could be much worse.

Thanks for the reply. That's the answer I was expecting, but I thought I'd bring it up. It's hard to understand Yamaha's reasoning on this one.
I've considered the powercenter option but was initially going for simplicity.
