Im confused and need some help with choosing a new reciever.
I want to go with Yamaha and i have a 200 dollar gift certificate at best buy.

Im conscerned with the differances between the RX-V line and the HTR line the crooks at best buy carry. I downloaded the manuels from the units i am interested in in RX-V and HTR lines and will compare them shortly but listed features look very similar and yamahas websites state they are similar but not what the differances would be.
im looking at 4600 and 2600 RX-V and the 5990 and 5890 in the HTR line

Help would be appreciated. Im upgrading from a nice 3-4 year old pioneer unit with about 70watts per channel and looking at the axiom speakers so i can add some wow back into my home theater

my DVD player uses dvi/hmdi as well as my Hi Def reciever
so id like the hdmi.

i just compared specs
the 5990 is allmost identical to the 2600.
the HTR series actually claims more total power but if you read the specs the RX-V series actually claims 10 watts more per channel.

Heres the differances i see 2600 vs 5990

dynamic power
165/205/260/340w Vs 155/195/250/330w

Dynamic Headroom
1.11db vs 1.03db

I wouldnt think those are major differances specially considering the cost differance between the units.
