RX-A770bl sound problem.

Hey all,

Encountered a weird issue I'm hoping someone can figure out.

I have my Xbox One X plugged into the A770 and then a HDMI out to my TV HDMI 1 port (KS 8000) if that matters.

My problem is if I have the AVR turned on first and then start the xbox, I have sound from the AVR speakers and it works like it should. But if I turn the AVR off while the xbox is still on, I get no sound from the TV.

But if I start the Xbox first without the AVR on, I get sound from my TV which tells me the passthrough is working. If I turn my AVR on after the Xbox is currently running, I cannot get sound out of my speakers.

Any idea why this is?

The problem is the Samsung KS8000, it is not HDMI certified. Go into its OSD menu and turn OFF the CEC function. I think Samsung calls this AnyNet.

Just my $0.02...;)

I'll give it a shot. Will turning off Any net cause any other unrelated problems?

CEC was part of the HDMI standards for easier system operation when used with other HDMI components.... Unfortunately Samsung deviated from the standards, typically it works well when all of the other HDMI components are Samsung brand. But when mixed with other brands HDMI products no one can say what works and doesn't work..

Turning AnyNet OFF won't hurt anything, but now some functions may now have be done manually..

Just my $0.02.. ;)
