RX-A3080..6ohm or 8ohm setting?

I just purchased a pair of Pioneer add-on Atmos speakers that run 6ohm. All of my other speakers run 8ohm. What do I set the receiver speaker impedance at? 6ohm or 8ohm?

8 Ohm- setting it to a lower number limits the output. Look for Gene's article about this.

Always set the AVR to the Default 8ohm setting regardless of the speaker’s impedance.

I also have the RX-3080. My RBH SVT towers are 4 ohms. I left my Yamaha at the 8ohm default setting.

I have an RX-A3060, have them set for 8 ohms, my PSBs are nominal 6 ohms.

Yep, we got Our leader Gene to thank for all his hard work on getting down to the Truth in Audio with facts and Graphs to backup his findings. I had always set my AVR’s to 4 Ohms till I read Genes article that Loveinthehd just posted up.
