I recently purchased a Yamaha RX-A1070 (replaced a Yamaha A750) to go with my Infinity Beta series speakers (Two Beta 50's, C360, Two Beta 20's and CSW-10 Sub.) I'm having an issue where the Beta 50's (Bi-amped) are missing the oomph the A750 had. They aren't very loud and are missing a lot of the bass from before. I think they are hooked up correctly I've checked them numerous times (AVR is also set to Bi-Amp.) Any suggestions on how to improve the sound? The 1070 has a million options on it (much more than the 750) a lot of the stuff is new to me so I used the YPAO to set it up.

Did you check to see what YPAO did? Are the speakers set to small, which they likely are by default? Do you have a sub and what is the x-over point YPAO set for them now?

Biamping from an AVR is pretty much no use since it is all the same power supply.

The speakers are set to large. I'll try it without the YPAO when I get home today. I set it up with that because my surrounds are not spaced evenly (funky living room and big speakers) and I do have a sub and maybe that did mess with x-over.

Yes, calibration set my bookshelf speakers to large and set my sub very high, so sometimes you may need to run it more than once or make a few minor adjustments after it is done. Also, it may EQ the mains in such a way that they sound different to you than before. You can try some music in DIRECT(no EQ) and see if there is a noticeable difference in sound, then it is possible it is something YPAO did.
