I had a thread about this is the past about the most effective way to run two projectors.
Well for anyone who wants a good solution I found it.
Problem:
I have two projectors, one is a 1080p unit the other a 480p projector.
The 1080p projector looks great for BluRay and gaming. For DVD and HDTV (Satellite) viewing the image quality is pretty close. Close enough where I would prefer too destroy my old 480p projector and bulb instead of the 1080p unit.
Given I have a 4 year warranty on the 480p projector and DLP has a longer usable life in terms of color reproduction I want to save the 1080p projector for 1080p use only.
Hooking up Two Displays:
I use the Yamaha RXV3800 while it is a nice unit there is no support for two HDMI display outputs. Given that my entire system is setup for HDMI 1.3. I needed a solution that supports that spec. That was where I ran into trouble.
I tried the cheap solution first.

That does not work, even when one display is switched off the Receiver never detects any display.
So I started looking for 1:2 HDMI boxes and all of them are 1.2 spec at a lower bandwidth.
So the option were limited.

That product is not out yet and is $699
So I went with the Octavia 5x2 hdmi 1.3 distribution switch.

It was $299.
But it does 1080p and 1080p/24 transmission perfectly.
However there is a problem with the Yamaha menus. The Yamaha is passing menu screens to the projectors at 1280x240. I have to find out why.
