I love this site! I have been browsing this site for a month now and have found it the most informative out there. I tried doing a search to see if this question has been asked before, but came up empty.
I have a question about running the coaxial for my sub. I am thinking about running my coaxial down the same the path as my electrical line down from my attic next to the outlet. Because the back of my living room comes to a slant, it's impossible for me to get the drill in an upright position to drill through the wood and create a whole to fish a wire down the wall where I would ideally like to be. My question is, will running the coaxial next to a electrical line create distortion or humming effect to the sub from the electricity line? I am still not sold that I will do this because there is no guarantee that I will be able to pull the coaxial cable through the same hole as the electrical line. It was pretty tight trying to get some fish tape down through it. Plus I would be worried about when I am pulling the cable through that I disconnect the electrical line from the outlet.
I have exhausted every idea of how I can conceal the coaxial by going through the attic and keeping the sub in the back of the room. What I mentioned above, seems to be one of my only options. The other corner of the room has a 12 inch header that I would have to drill through, plus a couple of 2X4's to run down that side of the wall. The back wall of my living room is side of the house with brick on the other side.
