Is there a tremendous difference between these two projectors. I was thinking of upgrading, but before I do I wanted some feedback. Any thoughts? Thanks

Yes, it would be a decent upgrade if you're moving up to HD. Can't say though what SD will look like on the 900. Are you hooked on Runco? Would you be adding the CineWide option? If not, you might consider the JVC DLA-HD100 which has an excellent Gennum scaler built in for less than $8000.

No, I'm not hook on Runco. I built my first home theater 6 years ago, upgraded to Runco 2 years later. I was steered towards Runco and Integra. So when it comes to equipment I haven't really looked at anything else.

In my experience, you have far better choices for far less money than Runco. Or, more accurately, nearly identical choices for a good deal less. The JVC models are getting high praise for their quality, as are the newest Sony LCoS projectors. If you are sticking with 16:9 format, then there are a whole slew of models which can really deliver the goods, including Sim2 and Projection Design for similar money to the Runcos.
