I'm a long time Home Theater buff, and fan of Audioholics. I just wanted to post a brief review of the Speed woofer 10S. I have owned a dozen or so subwoofers over the years, from Definitive Technology, to SVS. While they definitely provided much needed low end, none of them had that real balance between putting out real sound pressure for movies, while still having musical finesse. This was the case even after placing the subs in multiple positions and in different rooms, and tweaking every possible parameter within the subs output controls. The first thing I listened to when I received the Speedwoofer, was the modern version of Total Recall, on BluRay, running through an Onkyo RZ receiver. It was an awakening for me, really the first time I experienced what a world class subwoofer can do. The sounds I was getting from flying ships to explosions were seriously powerful, I was in awe. Then, when the sound track kicked in, the low bass and low synth bass sounds were so present, and so musical. There was absolutely no bloat to the sound, just razor sharp-precise bass notes. I just remember thinking "I can not believe this thing was 399.00 shipped??! It's been close to 3 years now, and she has only gotten better. If you're in the market for a subwoofer in this price range, I can't imagine a better choice. And quite honestly, my 10S still sounds better than many subs I've since heard, that are significantly more expensive. Hope this review helps!
