The C34 is a very nice choice for those who want some discrete speakers or a full discrete home-theater system. According to RSL, many of their customers use them for surround sound speakers. There are other who use them for stereo and/or multi-room applications with very good results.

This is what they had to say about the speakers alignment on this unit:

"Most in-ceiling speakers locate the tweeter in front of the woofer. In these cases, some of the sound from the woofer hits the back of the tweeter (and the bracket it’s mounted on) and reflects back into the woofer causing cancellations at certain frequencies. The result is uneven frequency response. The RSL C34 uses a lateral alignment where, 2-4 ½” woofers are mounted along side the tweeter. The tweeter also swivels allowing you to aim it at the listeners."
