I am using Onix Reference Speakers for HT
And they sound nothing short of fantastic! I bought 4 of the Reference 1.5's, which is the Tower version of the Ref1's, when they closed them out for $750 a pair and the Reference 100 Center Channel. Remember that these are 4 ohm speakers so you will need power, I am running an Outlaw 990 pre-pro & 7200 amp with mine.
I have never heard the Rockets so I cannot compare the two but my Reference's replaced a set of Energy Connoisseurs which aren't too shabby speakers themselves and I found them to be a much more detailed speaker then the Energies with a better imaging - the imaging on References is unreal.
At the current prices they are selling the References for I would SERIOUSLY consider going with 3 Reference-100 center channel speakers for the front, which are LCR Speakers and can be positioned either way. Three R-100's will produce some serious sound and will fill a large room. Three R-100's for the front and a pair of Ref1's or even the Ref 0.5's for the surrounds would give you an AWSOME, perfectly balanced setup for HT or Music as your fronts will be exactly the same and the rears will have the exact same 5.25" Atohm Drivers as the fronts. I have always found that if speakers sound really great with music they will also sound really great for Home Theater.
