<font color='#000000'>Does anyone have any information on the Rotel RTC965 pre-processor (it is 5.1 compatible, has remote & tuner, phono inputs). I am interested in multi-channel audio ONLY for SACD/DVD-A (using a Denon DVD-2900 as source) and have little/no interest in movie audio (though the device supports Dolby ProLogic, Dolby Digital & DBS for 5.1 channel digital sources anyways). I'd either use a pair of two channel amps (Rotel RA1050 & NAD 2400THX) for fronts & rears or consider a multichannel Rotel RMB1066 (6x60) for power.
The latest Rotel preamps that provide all the latest video-related technology start in the $1200 range. Since I'm not in need of the fancy video processing features that they offer I thought there might be a less expensive but equally functional alternative in this Rotel unit).
(1) How does the RTC-965 sound?
(2) What's a fair price for this used in good condition?
(3) Any reasonable alternatives?</font>
