I have been looking for a simple option for a pre-pro, or receiver. I want the new audio formats via HDMI, but don't care for other capabilities like blue-tooth, networking, Sirius, XM, and yada yada.

I had decided on the Marantz 8002, until I found this:

Is there anything that anyone can find that may be missing from this unit? Anything important.

I think I have found my pre-pro.:D

Looks nice. Very nice.
I don't see it lacking anything at all.

2200 Bucks? ouch.

Actually 2200 is not bad. It is a little more than the Integra but less than the Marantz so it falls into a nice price point. With your Blu-Ray that would be one sweet setup. I did not see specs on the video processing. I know you would do passthrough for BR but what other sources do you have? Do you need scaling?

you should wait a bit and see if there are "issues" that pop up :)

I just have the BR player. I don't plan on any other video device.

Since you have a Marantz BD, I still think you should get a Marantz Pre-Pro.:D

The Marantz BD has the Silicon Optix Realta chip, so it will produce the best upscaling of SD DVDs.

I would hope that if a company like Rotel took this long to put one of these out that it would be pretty much perfect in operation. It's nice to see a more prestigious piece of equipment with new tech in it.

yeah, i would hope so - but their previous attempt wasn't perfect.
