New member here. I recently got back into audio listening and wow have things changed. I previously used Adcom and B&W until my house burned down. Now I am back into it and have a nice Rotel receiver and some NHT towers, just for my game room. Now that you have some history, here is my dilemma after not finding a thread covering the issue.
I have a iPad air and a mini to rca cable. I connect it to the receiver and the only thing that seems to work is pre-out. nothing from any other input works. Tried CD for instance, rca to the cd inputs then select cd on preamp portion of receiver. Nothing.
My assumption is each input is built for a specific voltage or signal from an appropriate source, which is why the pre out is only working (like a bypass). Hoping you not laughing at this moment.
Pre out works fine as long as I control volume on iPad or phone.
Is it safe to say my receiver is bad all the sudden or its the iPad/phone and cable. Do I need schooled and shown I am doing this wrong?
