Rotel RB 1080 question. (could be any amp)

Greetings. I'm sure this is a silly question but I'm having a brain-fart if you'll excuse the expression. I've had a Rotel 1080 powering my mains for about 5 years. Recently I was putting a new component into the system so I started digging around with it for the first time in ages. My Rotel 1080 has two sets of binding posts per channel,(2-channel amp) where the manual only shows one set. Searching google images of the 1080 some pics show the amp with 2 sets per channel others only one. The reviews that I've read including Stereophile refer to one set per channel.

Anyway, I want to make sure I'm getting full power from the amp, as no jumpers are between the binding posts. This is where my brain-fart is happening. I can't recall proper setup but I do (sort of) trust that I DID know back when I first put it into my system. Just looking for confirmation. ;-) Any thoughts? And why would there be two styles of this amp under the same model number??

Thanks much-

The extra set of binding posts are to make bi-wiring easier. The same output is present at each set of binding posts. If you use adequate gauge wire in the first place, there should be no benefit for bi-wiring, so IMO, don't mess with it, just pick one pair of binding posts and use them. Hope this helps.

Understood. So no need to run a jumper then. Thanks for the response. :)

No jumper needed. Those two pair of binding posts are already jumpered together on inside of the chassis.
