Rotel Manufacturing

I feel like I must have missed something. I always thought Rotel was put together in the US. But I took a look at the label while in a store this weekend and it clearly says it's made in China. I find that odd as I've seen several threads where people have said buy the Rotel over something else because it's US-made. Not that I have anything against stuff being made in China, but are all Rotel made in China these days? If so, I guess people are simply ignorant when they make a statement about it being better because it's US-made.

Rotel is a British company. Not sure if their stuff was ever made in the US of A, certainly it was made in England at some point in the past. I don't know how long it's been assembled in China, but my Rotel gear circa 2000 is Chinese made.

I don't believe that's true unless I'm missing something else. I thought they were Japanese with a US office in Reading, MA.
And a little research reveals:
The Rotel Co. Ltd.
10-10 Shinsen-Cho
Shibuya-Ku
Tokyo 150-0045
Japan
Phone: +81 3-5458-5325
Fax: +81 3-5458-5310

Rotel of America is in North Reading
Rotel Europe is in England.
Wikipedia describes them as a Japanese company manufacturing products designed in England.;)

Oh my... This reminds me of the King of the Hill episode where they were asking "so are you Chinese or Japanese?" Rotel is a Japanese company, manufacturing products in China that were designed in England. I think I got it straight now. I guess one thing is for sure, they're not American in any way.
