Well, I just ordered two of the 244 panels from GIK. Cross your fingers that the wife doesnt kill me when she sees them on the wall next week. I know two is not enough for my room but its a start; if it goes over with her then I will add more. I ordered the Euro-linen hoping they look like a fine piece of art:rolleyes:

About time! Here is how I got away with my treatments: Hang them up and let her see them then right before she has time to get mad give her a present (mine was flowers) and compliment her then say the doctor said you needed more ;).

Since I have a small buzz from the golf and beer and I am feeling brave; I think I am going to call back and add two 242's to the mix. If I am going to get in trouble; I may as well go all out.

Emotiva says that the MPS-1 should ship on Wednesday; so things are looking up!

Lucky man. Maybe you should drink a few more beers and order that projector...just wait on getting the screen. After all my motto with women is "Better to ask forgiveness then permission." Its worked two years on Monday and I am pretty sure it will last a while longer :D.

That's the same motto Glen from GIK just gave me.

I think I am going to hold off on a new display. My Plasma is only 6 months old and I just not sure about getting a DLP vs. PJ.

She wants a pool and outdoor living area/kitchen/fireplace by next summer so I need to save a little money.

You guys put a grin on my mug. :D

Greg, I agree...if you're gonna get 'THE LOOK!' :)eek:), you might as well go whole-hog and get a couple of corner traps, too. ;)

(Just two 244's didn't do much for my 23'x27'xvaulted great room. BUT, lol, I hid them behind the display and equipment. Yep...I'm a coward! heh heh. Pardon the crummy photo.....operator error.)

I am going to put the 244's behind the speakers and then mount either 2 242's above the plasma in a diamond shape or see if GIK will build me a solid 4x4 for this purpose.(cleaner diamond look)

Are you going to just put them up on the wall? Or are you going to find the proper placements for them?

lol...I am just going to put them on the wall. Considering restraints(WAF); GIK said to start with behind the speakers, then go in the middle, higher up on the wall and then from there, there is noway the next steps will ever be approved. Since stuffing 2 pillows under my TV stand made a big inprovement; I am certain this will help too.

What are your suggestions?::eek:

That's a good plan. I tried out a long panel high on the front wall, near the ceiling, and it was a noticeable improvement.

I should get everything by next Friday so I will let you know how it turns out. I wussed out last night and told her what I ordered and she said "cool, we need something on the wall anyway but you better be able to return them if they dont look good".

Hahahah

What did you shoot?

While you're at it, you should order some bass traps for the corners too!! Hey....it's your house too...why not? Why can't the man of the house have one room (in the entire house) to do some things that will make him very happy? What loving wife would deny her hubby of such pleasures?

LOL.... I thought you were a young single guy renting an apartment with a girlfriend? Unless I have mistaken your living arrangement....that's a whole different ballgame!! Something like this is not about being apologetic, buttering her up, or trying to sneak one past her as if you're doing something bad.

I think it's more about communication and ensuring your spouse understands the importance to you to do this. As it relates to WAF, the approach is everything. Any wife who understands the importance of, and denies her loving hubby such pleasures in his own home....is pretty damn selfish, IMO. It's the hubby's job to let his wife know what he needs to be happy:)

It's your house too!! Be sure to communicate why these are important to you, and you shall not be denied.

C'mon man... she loves you!! Give yourself some credit:)

lol...it's all good. She lets me have just about anything I want but she is picky about what goes on the walls.

This is an example that didnt go over at all. She said "get those out of this bedroom as fast as possible". She wants in-ceilings in there but I was thinking she wouldnt mind the towers. Boy was I wrong; she was dead serious and a little mad.

I was mostly kidding about my suggestions earlier :). I agree it is mostly about communication, but my way is more "fun" if you get away with the extra goods :D.
