Room Color Ideas Please?????

First thanks for any thought, here are some pice of my room I just moved into last month but it needs a warming up in color, the carpet has to stay for now and would like to paint drop tiles if possible, there is a bar area right outside room I also want to paint over the paneling. The carpet is a light Grey speckle tone, I would like a trim color also so I can accent the trom and the door you see behind speakers which leads out to back yard. I know the pics are not great and I still cant figure out PhotoBucket, I have pics loaded but cant figure out how to get them here Thanks again!

Hey Chad,your right,you can do so much more with your room just by adding some color,from the pics you posted it looks like it can be a kick a$$ looking room & easily modernized with a little paint job & maybe some border around the top of the walls.

Post some wide angle shots so we can get a feel for the room,take sheeps advice too & use photobucket,once in photobucket you can select the size you want the pics displayed on the screen or a link to your photobucket album.

What do you think of this wall color scheme here,you can do it in varoius colors but still retain the same leather look.

That above picture was faux painted, which is what I like. It gives some depth and texture. Do a Google image search for "faux painting" (pronounced "foe painting") and you'll see some examples.

Click on the style you like and it brings you to a description for how to do it.

I've also painted wallpaper-like paint using fauxing techniques. You can use just about anything to get a texture you want... car washing brushes, selephane (not sure how to spell that?), rollers, different sponges.

Doing some crown molding in there also could look great. I would put in crown molding and faux it to look wood-like, and then do the walls in a deep green using dragging (see that Behr website to see what that means). That would be a great combination in there, I think.

Have you thought of changing out the carpet or maybe doing some area rugs?

To be honest I have not thought to change carpet mainly because I am disabled and on fixed income and that is going to be a huge cost. I want to thank everyone who gave suggestions and welcome others, a friend painted a room with special paint that looks like Sued Leather (sp) and really has me curious, but again its a pricy option.
