I've owned a UFW-10 for a little while. You can probably buy a sub that gets lower for the same price easily by foregoing the attractive finish and small size. I'm more of a music guy, and it blends very well crossed over at 80 Hz with my mains (which I most often use in 2.1 mode). You can turn it up a bit for movies, but it'll never be as flat at the bottom end as many subs with different priorities can be. Works more than well enough for me, I'm sure my upgradeitis will force me to buy something nicer when I run into the spare cash.
The sealed cabinet definately made it easier to place (still took a couple days of tweaking). It's a tiny cabinet, really easy to hide, if you have WAF to deal with. The UFW-10 is AV123s earliest sub (as far as I'm aware), so it does not come with an automatic equalizer. Instead, it provides a one-band parametric equalizer. Luckily for me, I only had one hugely significant dip in the frequency response in my room (right around 60 Hz; as I determined with my laptop, a sound editing program, a SPL meter, and a bit too much free time on an off day) which allowed me to put the equalizer to good use (as I double checked in the same fashion, much flatter!). I have to admit, the manual equalization was kind-of fun
