My name is MOK, thanks a lot!

After 3 release delays of almost 2 months, I finally got this one. Was getting concerned that it wouldn't get released at all as Unearthed Films had a dispute with someone over this one and ended up not having full funding for the release. It may very well become a collectors item and I got it at the prerelease Amazon price of $10.49

Threw it in last night to check it out and it is sort of a mixed bag. The Audio is quite excellent. It says Dolby Digital in the menu, but the audio stream shows as quite high during playback, so it may just be that they rushed the menus which definitely don't have a real polished feel to them and work like DVD menus (meaning you can't pop up chapters while the movie is playing). The sound is more enveloping than I can honestly remember it ever being.

Though the sound is excellent, the video quality doesn't seem look much better than the Special Edition SD DVD upscaled (I haven't directly compared). It may be a bit more vibrant, but it is still quite dark and very grainy at times, but that is pretty much how it has always looked so it isn't totally disappointing. I will pick up my SE SD DVD and compare next week.

I had the movie comic of this as a kid. I don't think I've ever seen the movie. Funny thing is, I was going through my DVD's when we were moving and I found I had the DVD!!!! I guess I never got around to watching it though.

I had the comic too and kinda wish I still did... It is one of those little fun films that I liked as a kid and is still quite different from most of what is out there. The music is also a lot of period fun. For those who don't know, it features Cheap Trick, Debby Harry, Lou Reid and Iggy Pop. It isn't Heavy Metal, but it also definitely isn't what I would call a kid's movie :)
