New guy here, but wanted to ask the question about RLC "networks" manufacturers add to their speaker cables. Based off the "Top 10 Signs you are being sold snake oil" article on the Audioholics website, curious as to the specific effects that the RLC network is trying to accomplish. The article mentioned it, but didn't get into details. Research into Transparent Cable's "network" has it as really nothing more than an RLC Zobel network.
You'd think that at a time when you are trying to not introduce inductance or resistance to a cable, that putting an RLC network in would be self-defeating (which I'm quite sure it is). I read the Pass Labs DIY article on cable design as well. One thing I'm sure doesn't happen anymore is an oscillating amplifier with modern designs...
Thoughts?
I'm getting back into 2-channel audio again, enjoying my new Aerial Acoustics 6Ts quite thoroughly... Thanks for the fantastic site to learn!
