I just received an order for the Starflex sub cables for a new SVS sub I ordered. First impression is they are aesthetically pleasing. Second impression is they look a little short. I measured them out and indeed the cable is short. I ordered the 2 meter cable and received 72 inches of great cable rather then 78. It still may make the distance that I need but I didn't leave much room for error. I'm not a fan of bunched up cable but didn't want to spend extra on custom length (where I only need around 2 Meters) that being said 6 inches can make allot of difference.
The Folks at River Cable have been very receptive so far. They have offered a new cable and to pay for shipping to return the other. Mistakes can happen and I hope its just this cable that was not measured accurately and not the whole batch after all I am paying a premium per foot here and expect to get what is advertised, if its 6 feet not 2 meters no biggie just state that. Its a small matter but detail is everything if the little things are missed I worry about the bigger ones. Hopefully they will fit without the need to take them up on their offer of a replacement.
Well, the cable was long enough and it is of excellent quality between the cable and my new SVS sub I am blown away. I would most assuredly recommend River Cable and SVS. I would still verify the length with River if you are trying to measure out the min amount you need.
